We did an amazing job during our fire drill! Tomorrow we are going outside for gym and field study Friday!  This morning we did some story writing and used this picture prompt to guide our ideas.  We played a math game that helped us with adding and practicing even and odd numbers.  We played the Boom Whackers in music!!! Ask me what note I played!  We are having a challenge to see who reads the blog. If you read the blog, please do this math question and bring it in to show your teacher to collect your prize!. Mrs. Stewart had 27 candies. Ms. Parkhurst brought in 35 more candies. How many candies do they have altogether? 3 super student tickets!!!

We started our day practicing vowel r syllables. We can practice words that have r controlled vowels in them! We started talking about odd and even numbers today. Give me a number and I will tell you if it is odd or even based on the last digit in that number! We drew landscapes of the three places we've studied this year: Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Saskatchewan. Ask me what I know about each landscape. We enjoyed an outdoor mindful minute today!

We started our day talking about aw and au. We know that they make the same sounds but au is often found at the beginning or in the middle of words and aw is usually at the end (sometimes followed by a single l,n, or k). We can brainstorm more words together! In math we continued to work on fractions. We can draw fractions, write fractions and order them from smallest to biggest.

We started the day reading the story Do Trees Have Mothers? Ask me what I found out about trees!!  We practiced naming fractions and identifying which fractions are bigger or smaller using Power of Ten cards. We had to postpone garbage clean up but we still made time to enjoy the outdoors in our community and stopped at the park to play!
