Pajama Day is on Thursday. Healthy Hunger pizza lunch tomorrow for those who ordered it. Today we continued to work on increasing patterns. We can create increasing patterns that increase by amount and increase by size and then tell what the pattern rule is.  This afternoon we wrote sentences and made sure we included nouns in our writing (we circled our nouns). I can tell you what a noun is (including proper noun, singular noun and plural noun). Highlights of the day: - We prepared our new words for Words Their Way. We are bringing our old ones home. - We played a jungle game in gym. - We wrote letters to a friend.

There is no school tomorrow, due to conferences. CONFERENCES ARE IN PERSON! This morning we put all our Words Their Way words into our personal dictionaries. We are excited to start collecting words we want to learn how to spell and looking in our dictionary before asking an adult how to spell the word. When we do ask how to spell a word we add it to our dictionary so we can look there for it next time we need help spelling. This we talked about nouns, proper nouns, singular nouns, and plural nouns. We then did a word search for them in our classroom books. Let's talk about nouns with our families! Highlights of the day: - We did how many ways? for the number 39 - We did curling in gym - We visited the book fair to see what will be there during conferences.  See you at conferences and on Monday for school!

Picture retake day is on Wednesday. Please return field trip forms. Please sign up for conferences on Thursday or Friday. This morning we read The Grateful Book and wrote about the things we are grateful for. We noticed that we can be grateful for small things as well as big things, and that there are many things we are grateful for everyday. We tried to add descriptive words to our sentences and make our sentences more interesting by using conjunctions like and or because etc.
