 Booster Juice Lunch tomorrow for those who ordered. We are going on a community walk after lunch tomorrow. Please dress for the weather. This morning we used the 100's chart to do double digit addition. We know how to decompose the addand into 10's and 1's and then skip count to find the answer. See School Messenger about Valentines Day. This morning we started our day with Literacy Centres. Ask me what I did today. During Math we worked on addition with borrowing again. Some of us worked on creating addition word problems. This afternoon we read the story The Black Book Of Colours. We talked about making sentences that help you visualize. We then started working on an art project inspired by the illustrations in the book we read. 

 Report Cards will be able to be accessed online on Monday. There are no paper copies of them. This morning we started our day by working on adding adjectives to our writing. We read The Adjective Fairy to help us. We then did two rounds of Literacy Centres. Ask me which two I did today.  During math we started doing double digit addition with borrowing. Ask me to show you how I can do it!  This afternoon we started talking about Nunavut and read the story A Promise Is A Promise! We ended the day with finishing up our kitchen Safety posters!  

 This morning we learned about adding double digit numbers by stacking the numbers on top of each other. Ask me how I do this! This afternoon we watched a special talk by the Calgary Public Library about The Caretakers of The Land. We continued working on our culture visual journal pages. Check out some of our work!

 Cobs Treat Day is tomorrow. This morning we started getting ready to do double digit addition by revisiting place value. Then we  played the game Race to 100! Ask me how you play that game. This afternoon we talked about our culture, traditions, hobbies and celebrations! Stay tuned to see our Visual Journal page on this!

Happy Birthday Cynthia!  Happy Lunar New Year!  Today was an exciting day because the wall has been opened between our classroom and Mrs. Stewart's classroom. We had fun doing literacy centres with the other class and then we had the opportunity to teach them how to play the Power of Ten game we learned last week. The game is called Salute. This afternoon we were given different hot or cold situations. In our groups we had to make safety sheets for the different situation we were given.  Some of the situations were: - Sitting by a campfire eating smores. - Using the microwave. - Dressing for playing in the snow. - Taking a bath  - using a stove top to cook. - ask me about the hot or cold situation my group made a safety sheet for!

 Tomorrow is PJ day.  This morning we talked about 'tch' and 'dge' at the end of words. We then worked with partners and brainstormed words that have these sounds at the end of them. We learned a new Power of Ten game today. Ask me how you play Salute. 

 Tomorrow is Popcorn Day if you ordered it. Friday is PJ DAY. Today we worked r- controlled vowels and with partners did a book search for 'er' and 'ir' sounds in words. In math we did 'How Many Ways' for the number 18 or 58. This afternoon we spent some time talking about how to dress for hot or cold weather and drew diagrams to show what to wear in different weather. Ask me what a diagram is!  In Gym we continued practicing skipping. Today we practiced some new tricks. Ask me what tricks I can do!
